I won't wear it if there is a chance it will get scratched, wet, stretched, or even noticed.
J/k I usually don't wear it to sleep but that's about it. But I don't work in an environment that would really damage the watch (MRI, jackhammer, etc). |

I don't wear a watch (or my wedding ring, for that matter) when working in the garage or hangar. Too much potential for unhappy consequences, both to jewelry and vehicle.
I also won't wear a watch, et al. for any sort of athletic activity (golf, tennis, etc.). Both because of asymmetric weighting/balance issues and the potential for damage. |

About the only time I take mine off are if I have to wrench on a car, or fix something mechanical where I'm using a ratchet or breaker bar. Other than that, I've driven race cars down the track, road raced, swam in the ocean, golfed etc.. with them on

I don't wear my Rolex to work - unfortunately. I have a Tag Heuer Carerra Drive Timer for work duties.
For a couple of reasons, one being I work in engineering, and I'd be sick of taking it off whenever I have to get my hands dirty. Second reason being, I'm a manager at a fairly small firm, and I know it would upset certain members of my staff as they can be sensitive to this. It already annoyed them when I turned up to work recently in my brand new BMW M2, so this would send them over the edge and hate me more than they probably already do haha! Not when sleeping, running or washing my car. (Don't want to scratch the car!)

Any type of water sports on the lake (especially surfing). I am not afraid of the water, but more of the forces the clasp would be subjected to when falling. It probably wouldn't fail, but if it ever did out lake has spots 400 plus ft deep with an average of 200ft. Wouldn't be getting that watch back.
