As you can see, there's no overhang and it looks decent -- I'd go as far as to guess that most on the forum would say it looks pretty good, if on the larger side, if I posted a "Does this watch fit me?" thread.

I'm likely buying a watch that I never thought I'd be able to even consider -- a 44mm AP Royal Oak Chrono -- and, while it is bigger than the SD43, it sits lower, more flush to my wrist, and feels balanced (as opposed to top-heavy) and comfortable. My point, again, is that the raw facts on watch size don't tell the whole story about whether it wears nicely or not. Now, there's probably a 50% chance I end up moving this on because I decide it's bigger than I'd prefer, but my point still stands.
Thanks for posting those. That's a watch that I would absolutely not wear due to size if it fit me like that, but as you say many people would consider it "acceptable".

I generally shoot for something around 39-42 but it all depends on the style of watch. I loved this watch but with almost no bezel and the white face it was way beyond what I think looks right even though it's technically the same 42mm size as others I have.

Last month in Anchorage I distance qualifed with a free style swim and treaded water for time afterwards to initiate an underwater certification; then there was the training itself. My even larger/heavier 126660 DSSD was completely unnoticeable throughout, never “flopped around” at the surface or below without the watch needing any inordinate tightening at the Glidelock.

I’m in no way casting shade on the exhausting SD 43 journey of the OP, he made his decision. I am just reminded that experiences will vary, and for me ordering the 210 gram diver resulted in the best Rolex experience I’ve ever had in the water or out. Would love to add the smaller/lighter SD43 to my stable. Viva la difference.
That shouldn't surprise anyone, your wrist is about twice the size of his. We don't all wear the same size hat, pants, shorts, belts, eyeglasses or shoes. Why would watches be different?

Sitting right at the limit, I let go another watch for this very reason, although it took me 4 years to realise it was too big. Felt almost perfect at the AD, almost... In time that first impression didn't go away, I learnt from that.

I appreciate this honest and complete post. I also have small wrists and was seriously considering the SD43. I am looking for a great SD4K as I have tried it on and it was a great fit for me even though a little tall. Thanks for the write up!

To illustrate how much the design of the watch makes a difference, the Omega is just 1mm smaller than the Dornbluth on paper.
