I ended up choosing a Yacht-Master 37 in Steel and Everose with a Chocolate dial. It has the relatively new 2236 movement with the Syloxi Hairspring. It's a really beautiful watch in a perfect size for my wife .... slightly oversized for her wrist but not too big or comical. Not to mention the Everose looks great against her skin tone.

About a month prior to our anniversary I head over to my favorite AD, Wilson & Son Jewelers, in Scarsdale, NY. Mike, one of the owners, a friend and a true WIS himself, has the watch on hold for me. It has the new dial with the crown at 6 o'clock. I pick up the watch and hide it until the big day.

Little did I know, during this time, my wife and Mike were colluding on a gift for me! My wife pays just enough attention to my constant watch talk to know I've been waiting for a BLRO since it's release last year.

Well lets just say I was completely blown away and it's an anniversary we'll always remember!
