The move to full PM ... YOLO

Exactly a month ago -- before we were in the midst of a global pandemic and facing significant travel restrictions -- I went on what would ultimately be a well-timed vacation to Europe. As is standard practice for many of us, I also happened to be on the hunt for a new timepiece.

After exchanging a few messages with my favorite London-based AD, I was able to acquire the piece during a brief layover, and it spent the week on my wrist ... forming some pretty amazing early memories.

This is my first move into full precious metal and so far I'm loving it. The Rolex Everose gold is even better on wrist than I expected. The case/bracelet color has so much dynamic range that it seems to fluctuate between bronze, copper, and pink gold with just a flick of the wrist. And the bezel is a beautiful dark brown and glossy black that just blends perfectly into the warmth of the Everose case. Though I like the weight of the full gold watch, I'm finding I still appreciate my SS pieces, which is comforting (no need to sell off the rest of my collection yet ;)

As a guy who travels the international routes often and whose best "dress up" outfit is business casual, the sports GMT fits just perfectly; and I love how this model is not common, either in WRUW wrist shots or in real-life. It's just unique and I love what I see every time I look at my wrist.

With this latest acquisition, I'd really like to downsize the collection by 1-2 pieces, which is going to be difficult. One of these days I'll follow Gus' lead and document the evolution of my collection. For now, though, just some pics of the latest acquisition...
