1957 Submariner
Most diving qualification cards indicate date and dive level along with issuing authority, like PADI-Professional Assn of Diving Instructors.
The training involved is not easy, but SCUBA or hard hat commercial diving is dangerous. As a military combat dive school diver, a PADI card was issued. This also allows one to obtain air-for tanks. Most dive shops will not fill tanks-yours or theirs for use-without viewing your dive certification card. A dive watch allows a diver to accurately measure elapsed time. There are other brands. Diving without a Submariner on board is not for the skilled and/or intelligent. That's why it always will be a tool watch. Forget Geneva and the boutiques. Did a diver sell you your dive watch?
