Icon20 1980 datejust

New member, don’t know protocol.

~1980 datejust bought new in 1980 for around 950 i think.

Served me well until some unfortunate service was performed.

Have a local shop with certified Rolex guy and tools, but speaking to them they said if there’s a problem we’ll send it to Rolex.

Wrong crystal was installed, water inside, original face ruined. New face installed (wrong color). Now the stem wont close. Never seen moisture sine the “repair “

Question to you experts is do I have a local guy evaluate it to start, or just get Rolex to refurb. I am aware it may take more than I originally paid for purchase to make right.

Thanks
