You probably were expecting it because most people would consider turning down the chance to buy something for 4K that's now worth 8-10K a couple of years later as a missed opportunity.

No doubt there are plenty of Rolexes that have doubled or more in value in the last few years....the difference is that they are now far too expensive for many people who want to own a Rolex. The OP 39 is still available at a reasonable price compared to most of the other Rolex that have doubled (or more) in price in the last few years. And that....really is the point of this thread....not what MY watch is worth. If I wanted to talk about watches as investments I would talk about my Nautilus, Daytonas or Sky Dweller etc. but the point of the thread is value and availability at this moment as not everyone can afford to spend 40+ K on a Daytona or Sky Dweller or 30K for a Pepsi but 8 or 9K for a very nice looking GADA Rolex piece with a solid movement.....that's a good value relatively speaking.

And that really is the point of this thread. For someone looking for a good value at this time in the Rolex market, especially if on a limited budget I think that the OP39 is a good choice and it will likely continue to become more expensive and scarce but we shall see won't we?
