You´re correct. I just saw the title and then looked at the picture, how gracefully you´ve laid out a silky smooth blanket for your robust and sturdy Explorer-adventure watch, so close to the edge. If you´re not afraid of the watch dropping down on the floor, potentially damaging it more than a hairline would, why the microfiber-sheet/cloth that´s made to not produce hairlines on shiny things? Perhaps I´m overthinking this, but it looks like you´re more into avoiding hairlines than real actual damage. It just doesn´t make any sense to me.....same thing as with the watch-market.

....and then I also saw the pictures of the stands/podiums/altars.
