Every "Dustproof" reference
It seems like "Dustproof" was a marketing experiment for Rolex from 1957-1963 or so. Dustproofs never say "Oyster" on the dial, even though they almost all have Oyster cases. All Dustproofs are manual-wind, so perhaps they were thinking of distancing manual models from the Oyster brand? Who knows!
The Dustproof references I was able to find are 4444, 4499, 6422, 6424, 8010, and 9708 (the only one with a non-Oyster case). Pics below: 4444 4499 6422 6424 8010 9708 |
