Montegrappa Emblema refinish
I’ve had this pen in my collection for several years but didn’t really use it much. I picked it up used on eBay for a good price with the intention of refinishing it. It had some dings and scratches along with some tarnished silver hardware. My original refinish was pretty lazy as I ran out of time so the pen and parts had been just sitting in my pen case for 3 or so years. I decided to finally go back through the pen yesterday and finally clean it up. Started with wet sanding the scratches out with 2k grit paper, then moved to 4k grit. Final polish was done with Meguiar’s medium cut polish and finished with a 3M dual action polishing glaze. It starts out lightly coarse and then breaks down into a nice final polish compound. I love the smell of celluloid in the morning Also had to shellac the silver cap trim back on.
