Dallas RSC - told me they do not run serial # to check their stolen database?
Hi all!
I recently purchased a beautiful preowned 2020 126234 with box / warranty card. It arrived earlier this week and I took it to two reputable watch dealers here in Dallas as well as another AD with an in-house service center that said it all looks legit and checks out. My question is, as I’m local to the Dallas area, I took the watch in person to Dallas RSC to have a link removed / adjust the bracelet, and when I asked if they are able to run my serial against their stolen watch database, I was told “We can’t and do not offer that service and aren’t able to authenticate or confirm if it’s been stolen, but we can help with the link.” They did take my watch to the back and came out about 2-3 minutes later after resizing it, but has anyone run into this before? Do you think they just aren’t publicly allowed to state that and they ran the serial number regardless? I obviously don’t want to be wearing a stolen watch and I hope Rolex would want the original buyer to have their watch back if so. It’s just a little concerning for me because if I ever did lose or have my Rolex stolen, I’d definitely hope the RSC was checking any serial # that was in their hands against a database they had. Any insight would help if anyone has had similar experiences! |
