Dial assembly moves
Hoping some on here can help figure out what’s going on.
I recently had my c. 1979 Sea Dweller 16660 serviced by a local Rolex certified watchmaker. The date wheel was misaligning on random numbers. In some cases, the date would change crisply, with others it would seemingly get stuck part way between numbers. Sometimes it would eventually complete the advancement, sometimes not. Anyway, after getting it back, I unscrewed and pulled out the stem to change the date ( problem solved) and noticed that the entire dial assembly moved very slightly with the pull. When the crown is fully tightened, nothing moves and the watch seems to function properly although I haven’t checked out the timing yet. Ant thoughts? I wondered if anyone has encountered this or knew what might be the issue before heading back to the watchmaker this weekend. Thanks in advance. |
