If this is watch you are wearing and enjoying, get it serviced to the extent possible. If you want an original vintage, don’t. IMHO, too many people are fixated on the future value, sacrificing current enjoyment for future (uncertain) gain(?).
Maybe this is blasphemy, but I don’t really care what the value of my watches are when I’m gone. Somebody will get some spectacular watches. Most likely they will sell them for things THEY value. If there is a Rolex Forum in the afterlife, I suspect they are turning in their graves seeing what has happened to their beloved collection.
