Onyx dial - problem

Hi all,
I recently came access below Day-Date 36, ref: 18238 from end 80s/early 90s. Was going to buy it off the old gentleman who bought it brand new, but upon inspection I noticed that top layer around the edge at 4 o’clock, centre post hole and date window is peeling or I should say it has this milky look. What would you do, price is very reasonable, so would you buy it and 1. live with it, 2. would you send it to RSC and go through their special dial exchange only program when old “damged” Onyx (T SWISS t) can be switch with new Onyx (SWISS MADE), 3. Do not buy it or 4. other suggestions?

PS1: Sorry for bad pic, this is from old gentleman, I forgot to take my pictures when I examined the watch

PS2: I noticed that some collectors even of “high rank” mr johnson167 on IG like to call his damaged DJ Onyx dial - Obsidian stone even though peeling alway accrues at the same spots like his - edges, centre post, date - wherever that is a hole in the stone.

Thanks!
