1961 vintage Eterna Kon Tiki
Hi all, a foray into vintage recently with this Eterna-matic Kon Tiki, a "conception year" watch, if not quite a birth year!
I am very impressed with this watch, which has gained 17 seconds in the last 8 days at a steady rate of just over +2 sec/day. The bracelet is a super-bling "beads of rice" Gay Freres, and it's a nice antidote to overpriced modern watches. 34mm makes it small by today's standards, but lug height is 42mm, and it wears larger than the measurement would suggest. Eterna was a big-name brand back in the 50s & 60s, the company was originally set up in the 1850s, and it spawned the ETA movement manufacture. I haven't got round to getting my camera out yet, so here are some better pics than I could take. https://vintagewatchspecialist.com/c...racelet-c-1961
