Is wearing a daily driver with a 3035 or 3075 movement a reasonable idea?
I'm thinking about getting a Rolex made in the 1980's and I've focused on the GMT Master 16750 (3075 movement).
I plan to get the watch serviced by an RSC after acquiring. After that is done, is a 30XX movement watch still a reasonable daily wear watch? Are they still able to maintain a daily -4/+6 rate? Is there any reason this is a bad idea? My current Rolex watches (three in total) have the 31XX movement, which has been rock solid for me, but I'd like to consolidate my collection and go with one watch from the 1980's for daily wear. But I have reservations about a movement that was last manufactured in the 1980's. I'm sure there plenty of people here who own a 3035 or 3075 movement who can shed light on my dilemma. |
