As an additional data point I also got a 5712/1a as a second Patek (first was 5146r), also in the UK but this was back in 2022.

Might be a quirk of the local market, but if you simply went off what people say online they would believe this to be impossible.

Good point and one which isn’t really talked about. There is a bit of nuance in how allocations work from AD to AD, even from model to model.

My recollection is that many ADs get c.2 5712a per year (at least the ones I have spoken to) whereas the Salon get several times that, so I guess it’s also a case of knowing where to allocate your time and money.
