This place sure is addicting... my proper introduction
I've been lurking on this site for around 8 months now (used to spend a lot of time lurking on another board) and it's nice to read posts by members that are so passionate about Rolex. I got into watches around the mid 90's and my first "real" watch was a Tag Heuer S/EL. It was a gift for my 21st b-day and I remember the excitement when it was strapped on my wrist, love that feeling.
From there I bought a pre-owned Breitling Chrono Colt Quartz (before Rolex Breitlings were my obsession). Wore that for a few years and then I noticed my older brother wearing a SS Sub that he bought preowned. I totally forgot about Breitlings at that point, I had a new obsession. Unfortunately I realized that even pre-owned SS Rolex models were totally out of my price range so I started doing as much research/looking around as possible. Then I remember my other brother had a Tudor Chrono (pre-tiger). So I went to Jewelers Row in Chicago and traded the Breitling for a black dial Tudor Tiger Chrono. It was on a leather strap but I had to have it on an Oyster bracelet so I switched it out. Without going on an on and boring everyone that Tudor was eventually traded for an A serial GMT Master. Since then I've owned almost every SS sport model and had to go a few years without a watch at all (got married, had kids etc...). Being a little older and a lot wiser my new goal is to get back every Rolex that I traded/sold. A serial GMT, P serial Sub, P serial Explorer. Very happy that I have the Sea Dweller back. Thanks for reading. |
