rolex oysterquartz or grand seiko quartz

I am seriously considering trading my Rolex oysterquartz all stainless steel with a black dial a serial model 17000A for a grand Seiko model number sbgv005. I love the Rolex but it' is a tad too small and I have heard from several different sources that the oysterquartz is expensive and very difficult to service. I've owned it for a couple of years and haven't had any issues yet. Is this a valid concern? Also if you had a choice which would you choose. The trade would be an even trade. Also I believe that the Rolex is a 1999 of 2000 model. I've seen many older models for sale but not too.many 99 or 2000 models. Are these model years more rare than the older models? Please let me know your thoughts and suggestions.
