Personally, though, if the goal is one of the so-called "holy trinity", I would rather take an AP or PP over VC, since there's that something extra IMHO with haute horlogerie to be independent (VC is now owned by Richemont, same company that owns JLC, IWC, Panerai, Piaget, Cartier and Montblanc, among others).

I agree. Also Mike recently posted a pic of his YG YM2 that was stunning, I would save and get that one.
