Cut to maybe a decade later; after months and months of saving, I finally walked into our local AD, spent three (!) hours there and floated out, supremely happy, with my first ever Rolex- a beautiful TT Daytona with a lovely slate grey dial, for me the best Daytona ever (naturally, eh!)
That was also the day I registered on TRF
