It would be no big deal for me. I don’t baby my watches nor am I reckless with them but I have nicks like this that I have no idea how I got them.
If you’re close with the AD I would bring it up to them just so that they know. As a business owner I would like to know about these kinds of incidents. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I wouldn’t worry about it. Now if you do get it repaired, will it come back with something else wrong with it? It’s like a he said/she said situation. When the watch is out of your possession anything can happen... it could accidentally be dropped and hit the floor, you get it back and all the sudden it’s running 2 make minutes fast per day. Is it worth it to take that chance? I’ve learned over the years that it’s hard d to trust ANYONE with my watch. Unless it needs service, I wouldn’t do it.

glad to see so much good advice in this thread instead of folks recommending more drastic measures....I would also suggest that you just wear it, as chances are it will get far worse marks, dents, and scratches once you use it

Yup that’s definitely from the spring bar shooting out when they were trying to put the bracelet back on. I don’t think it can be polished out without removing material, you might need to get it laser welded. Either way sucks that this happened on a brand new watch but try to enjoy it.

Congrats on your first scratch. Plenty more coming. All can be polished or repaired when the time comes. Enjoy the magnificent time piece!
I put a good ding in my new DBlue over the weekend. It happens.

I would leave it alone. Just enjoy your CHNR and after a few weeks you will have other signs of wear on your watch and it won’t bother you anymore. Congrats on your new GMT.

Your situation is complicated to get it fixed so just live with it and call it a “personality mark”.

True. No watchmaker who removes and installs bracelets on a regular basis for a living should be leaving lug damage behind. I agree it is unacceptable.

A lesson to all of us, thoroughly inspect your watch, before you accept it. It shouldn't have happened in the 'watchmaker's' hands. But, I agree with others here, that have said, it will annoy you for a while, but after a relatively short time, you'll forget about it. Beautiful watch! |

That can be polished no problem and easily fixed. You’ll get more as you wear anyway. I like to leave OEM for this and a variety of other reasons though. Congrats on your graduation
