Tudor BB purchase question
Hi everyone. I just sold my Submariner 16800 and want to buy a Tudor Black Bay with the blue bezel as my new daily wear watch. I didn’t know much about them and was considering just getting a new one, ref 79230, until I read up about the switch from ETA to in-house movement in 2016. The consensus seems to be that the 79220 models will be easier and less expensive to service, they are less top-heavy and they will presumably appreciate as time goes by. I’ve had good luck with my previous two watches, the aforementioned Submariner and the Tudor Submariner I had before it, having sold both for quite a bit more than I paid. Now, that’s not the reason why I would buy, but it would be a nice benefit to have. So the question is: do I go with a 79230 or look for a good condition 79220b? I’d love a 79220n, but I want to keep my purchase price around $3,000. Are there any other pros and cons I’m missing from each model that I should be considering? Thanks in advance for your input.
