Best Rolex Service in San Diego, CA?

Hi Forum,

I tried searching and couldn't find what I was looking for, so if this question has been answered before, I would appreciate if you linked the post.

Since the Rolex Service Centers are closed, I would like to service my 14060 Submariner at an independent shop in San Diego. It's running slightly slow, and I would like to test waterproofness while it's there.

What local shop is the most reputable? I don't mind paying a little more for guaranteed great service and reputation.

Thanks.

I believe the Dallas RSC is open and they do exceptional work. I highly recommend them and you get a two year Service Warranty. Think about how amazing that is...I own a 52 year old watch that is UNDER WARRANTY.

D’s Time service has done great work for me in the past, they are located downtown. Tom is great. I still send them to him on occasion even though I have since moved from San Diego.

I received excellent service from D’s Time Service earlier this year. My 16710 started losing time- they diagnosed the problem at drop off and completed the service pretty quickly. They are one of the independents that still has a parts account. I was very satisfied and I would use them again without hesitation.

The only place I would send my watch period even if I was out of San Diego these days....Tom's knowledge and experience is a blessing for enthusiasts like us. D's Time Service is where you need to bring the watch, I know he's been open for a bit now.

100% Agree D is not only knowledgable but great guy and I have had 3-4 watches serviced with him. He showed me how process works and tour of equipment etc.

I think he is open shorter hours and only certain days right now give him call....

Plus prices are fair....

As everyone else has said, D's Time Service is the only place I'd go in San Diego for service.

Tom is a class act and his quality of work is outstanding.

If you want to drive a bit further north, I’d recommend Kelly Hayes, who has been certified since 1977.

I'm gonna be sent to guam in a month or so... I considered sending to the RSC in dallas via my boutique or just driving up to the RSC in Beverly Hills. But I wonder if my sub and gmt2 will get back to me in time.

My sub is having a rotor issue. It keeps time well, but i think the rotor needs servicing since it's vibrating. Glad I found this thread though. I'll send Tom an email now to set up an appt. Hopefully, I have a pleasant experience like many before.

Any benefit to going to an indy service vs RSC?

I think if you find a quality independent, RSC wouldn't be as preferable.... I've seen many botched RSC work here on forums and have received watches from Beverly Hills and Texas with various issues... You can't even control/hold someone responsible because you never know who works on the watch. At D's Time Service for example, I know exactly who does the work... Shorter lead times.... Cheaper pricing... And he's serviced over 50 of my watches without an issue including sensitive vintage. Anyone in San Diego is lucky to have him locally.. And he accepts mail in as well. I know who I'd send my watches to even if I moved away in the future for sure.

D's Time is the Best!

Talk to Tom. Ask him about the TRF Member discount.

I have had all of my watches looked at and worked on at D's Time and recommended them 100%.

Just dropped off my sub with Tom. What a great guy! Super honest and genuine. Immediately knew what was wrong with my sub. I’ll report back when I get it in 2-3 weeks.
