1960s Era Box and Case should look like...?
Hi guys;
I've seen a few 'full kit' examples from the 60s, and at least half of them definitely had incorrect packaging in some way - red modern ladies model boxes w/1950 mens watches etc. Can anyone here tell me what the, or a (I know they could vary at times) proper outer and inner box/casing for an early or mid 1960s Air King would be? Or better yet, any photos of what is known to be a correct set? Thanks all! |

The green strip box was much later than mid 1960s. There were several different box sets found during the 1960s. Its not easy to date them all.
Below is a Date set from 1965 with the "ribbon" box set - so-called because of the gold ribbon found around the coronet on the outer green box lid. There were a couple variations found on the inner box. One variation had the slotted card that the watch fit in and there was another variation (pictured here) where the center card had some type of loop or hook to hold the watch.
