My first piece I kept noticing fingerprints & found them annoying until I realized there were about a hundred hairline scratches. That process about a month. Now just try to minimize giving it whacks and gouges (seatbelt buckle is my nemesis) and don't worry about it much

I have a harder time dealing with the scratches on the Nautilus but we should enjoy them right?!

Ditto. Lefty with watch on left hand. Scratches on end links and clasp start appears first day

Day one. Every time. Not deliberately trying to scratch it, but it happens.

I used to worry about it and I’d stop by my watchmaker, use his polishing wheel, and brush out the scuffs. After some time to reflect, I came to understand it does not matter. Scratches are a part of life. They can be polished out at service intervals. That’s good enough for me. YMMV.

Day 1 for me.

Get scuffs with simple activities like carrying a laptop, typing on keyboard or eating at a table with utensils.

Scuffs/scratches are inevitable with regular use, similar to driving a car.

Enjoy the watch, get insurance against theft/loss, and never look back. We all worry about condition, which is a generally good thing to be mindful of, but unless you’re buying watches and expecting to liquidate them at some point, a few scratches are signs of a life well lived!
Well said!
