So cool you chose to keep the original blueple dial, best reference of this model. Smart boy!

Very nice - this watch was one of the inspirations to get my bluesy. Looking fantastic!

It was a daily wearer until I started "collecting" and wearing ceramics around 2010. This watch has been sitting in the safe for the last 10 years so I figured I would get her serviced and the watch looks stunning.

This 16613 also sports a "Flat S" tritium dial, which is on the rarer side, as you can see, the "S" in the word "Submariner" is written like a backward "Z". I think it is a real testament to the timeless Rolex design philosophy that a watch this old can look this freaking good. I just wanted to share...hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Beautiful

I think the Bluesy is the best reference Rolex makes - but I'm extremely biased on this opinion!

Beautiful! I have an 04 which was also my first Rolex. Had it serviced last year and it came back looking like new.The problem is while I was waiting for it I bought a couple more pieces and I’ve been thinking about moving the 16613.
However every time I open one of these threads I rethink my decision

Looks just like new. It’s time to wear it out and not keep it in the safe.

It's beautiful and it’s become such a classic. I really like the perfect match between aluminum bezel and dial, which you don’t get in the ceramic bimetal blue Sub.

I don't know if "flat S" is most flattering way to describe it but it's an interesting little quirk, thanks for sharing.

That one is a beauty! I have bought and sold the 116613...I never connected with it quite as much as this one, but it was an amazing piece.

Wow, congrats on having that beautiful 16613! I am a huge fan of the "flat s" style dial but do not own one yet unfortunatley. I tried diving into this specific model because I want to start adding to my collection. I didnt know of all the changes that Rolex made throughout the more than 20 years of this models produciton but learned a lot from this page..
https://www.bobswatches.com/rolex-bl...ner-16613.html
"there is no shortage of them on the market, keeping their prices reasonable"
I think with all that I learned I am even more hungry to get my hands on a 16613, but especially a
"flat s" like yours!

Best,
Edward

I just love how the sunburst dial really compliments the anodized bezel. It looks superb as the bezel has the same "life" as the sunburst. That's why I always tend to think the ceramic 116613LB's look better with the older flat blue dials.
