SD43 / Exp II Clasp ???

Hi all,

I have an Explorer II 226570 white dial.
I really like the watch but I am unhappy with it's fit on my wrist.

I would like to geyt a Glidelock clasp.

I was wondering if the clasp from the SD43 126600 will fit ?

The last links on my bracelet before the clasp measure 17mm in width.

Please can anyone tell me if this will possibly work and if anyone has a part number of what I need even better.

I could never get a decent fit on my 216570 Polar either. Have you tried a half link? May not be many of them around as this newer style bracelet is a different size to the old Submariner version, where I beleive most of the half links came from.

I wonder if glidelock from the Sub 41 would be a better fit.

I believe the oyster links would be the same on the SUB41 and the EXP 2. I’m not as sure about the SD43

I have the new Sub 126610 .... The clasp is 16.5mm at the end so its not a fit.

I just think but I don't have data that an SD43 has 17mm ends.

The RSC tiold me that 1/2 links are not available for this model.

They wont confirm, or deny, that the SD43 clasp is what I need.

It'll be interesting to see if anyone knows.

No, the RSC won’t sell you a half link for an Explorer II as they don’t come with one as standard from new. You’d have to source one from a sub owner (new 12 series) that no longer needs theirs. This is what I did with my 216570 and it helped to achieve a better fit.

Good luck sourcing a sd43 clasp, again I doubt RSC will offer any assistance or even sell you one as it’s not a function offered on the Explorer II.

I think it’s poor from Rolex not to offer a glide lock style clasp on all sports models. I mean, it’s not just divers who need to make their bracelets slightly bigger throughout the day!

Can’t you just use the half link for your sub? Sorry, I missed this detail from a previous post.

I know it won’t be as finely tuned as a glide lock, but still should be better than without?

I do have the Sub date 126610.
the 1/2 link does NOT fit as its narrower.

There is some adjustment in the clasp other than the extension link .. But for that you have to carry spring bar tools.

The glidelock just makes things so simple.

SD43 / Exp II Clasp ???

Here it is.

Sorry for the lousy pictures and fingertips all over the place.

LE: It was after that I saw you were talking about the new EXPLORER.

At least we know the SD43 is 17mm. We need someone measuring your new Expl II interior clasp.

No idea about the MK 1/2/3 thing but I bought it Sept 2019. I remember my AD said you could order a bracelet/clasp only if you show them the watch missing the element you want to order.

Good luck and please come back letting us know how it ended.

I’ll start on that on Monday. I’ll call my AD and see if he can guide me a little

If not I’ll have to borrow a watch to show I have a missing clasp.

Charles, have you had any luck sourcing the SD43 clasp for ExpII? I am on the same boat and would appreciate your feedback if it worked out fit-wise.

What’s a steel glidelock clasp run these days? I know the gold ones are almost the retail of a new steel watch.

Just curious if you’ve messed with moving around the three positions around under the easy link to get a better fit? I moved mine to the middle position and now it’s perfect…

I got an aftermarket SD43 clasp. It definitely fits but the quality was not something I was fond of. I’d suggest trying a half link first if you can.
