I find platinum more wearable but that’s due to my skin tone. That AP reference is massive and the gold option will be very noticeable which isn’t always appropriate. I like the fact that most people think the platinum version is steel so it causes zero offence.

The rose gold model was my very first AP back when it was first launched. Your picture shows it with a replacement bezel, the original was forged carbon and had a marbled look to it that really popped, however it was prone to damage easily which is why AP allowed a ceramic bezel to be put on at service.
The platinum model came a year or so later with the ceramic bezel as standard. If presented with the choice today I'd go with the rose gold, this watch has real presence and even though I agree with Ash that it may cause offence, this watch is a FU watch, so offence is its middle name. p.s. I wore mine every day and it had a hard life, but it suffered no dings or scratches and the bezel was as good as the day I bought it. The new brushed ceramic bezel on your pic though is a better bezel that the non brushed bezel on the platinum pic, imo. p.p.s. I think Conkers has/had both and if I recall he swapped the carbon bezel for ceramic and was probably one of the first to do so. He may still have pics on his insta which would be worth a look. |

As good as the ceramic bezel is the carbon has way more character. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Wow! That looks amazing. One thing I’ve previously wondered is if your AP has the non brushed ceramic can it be changed to brushed? It looks way better brushed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Points raised above are spot on. Pt goes under the radar really well, RG is FU but it is a FU watch ;)
Either way get the fully brushed bezel as that does make a big difference despite it being a small detail. Have always thought an end game would be to upgrade to one of these but it is a lot of £ or € on top of the ‘base’ 44’s and emotionally I do not have that much for a tourb, and I personally like auto which I know is not a purist thing but I still really like them….. |

Is there a wrong choice, they are both brilliant! Personally, I would go Pt over the RG

I love both, and did indeed swap the carbon for ceramic on my Rose Gold. Pt does fly under the radar more than the RG which is useful as they are huge watches and the pt is a little less obvious accordingly. Both available with very decent pricing used.
