realistic value of your amazing trio on a private deal:

for a 2021 unworn - it's accurate. I wouldn't consider it hosed by any means. On an older one, yes it is overpaying.
Ditto. You got the numbers mostly correct. $90K for the 5167A unworn and the three Rolexes add up to that.

A quick note that I have another precious metal Daytona (Paul Newman on oysterflex) and a Kermit in my collection. So I will be left with three watches.

Do you all think the patek’s value will appreciate the same as the three Rolexes? I know that watches should not be worn purchased with that in mind but it is definitely a criteria for me. Further, how does the 5167A wear on the 7.5 inch wrist? Does it look too small?

I will let go the PM daytona and YM + cash for the 5167. Then you will have a great collection:

Steel Daytona
Kermit
Pepsi
5167

I would just look at it from the perspective of, if I did this trade how much would I have spent on the 5167a. If you bought the Rolexes at retail you'll have $50K in the Aquanaut.
But you're always going to lose on a trade, there's no getting around it.

No way. Not for the 5167A. If you really have to, I would suggest the 5712G or the 5164A. You might have to top it up with a bit of cash, but is much more worth it.

But I completely understand where you are coming from. I have a similar collection to yours, GMT II, OF YM40, OF WG Daytona. I came to this forum asking for advice about getting a 5167R (without selling any). But the members here pointed me to better options, I am now the proud owner of a 5712G and I have a 5164A incoming this week. And I have to say I haven't worn my Rolexes much since, apart from the YM which I love. So I would say if you were to do it, do it for the right one.

Dude, any one of those watches holds its own against a 5167. This would be a travesty.

As the owner of a 5167 I'll say: the watch is massively overrated and overpriced. Just like the Nautilus. Demand is driving demand. Don't get me wrong - it's a decent watch, and appropriately priced at retail, but pre-owned prices are bonkers.

There's a real risk that you do the trade and momentarily scratch the itch, but in my experience that may not last long.

I loved mine for the first year or so (bought it at retail), but have bought several others since. And now the 5167 is mostly unworn. I wouldn't have considered the watch for a penny above retail, but I'm also not an investor - I buy watches to wear them.

It feels to me, based on time spent on this forum, that most prospective buyers want the watch for what it represents (money, hard-to-get) more so than any physical properties of the watch (aesthetics, movement etc), or its history.

If you're in the camp of absolutely loving the look and feel of the watch - then go for it. If, on the other hand you're considering it because everyone wants one and it's "hot", I'd... reconsider. There are so many other more significant and beautiful Pateks out there. And your existing Rolexes are quite nice too!

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I like the 5167A but not enough to trade those 3 watches for it.

The aquanaut is unreasonably high even for this crazy market. It's tacking on seriously with the Nautilus.

Aquanaut prices are crazy and $90k for a 5167A is quite high. I wouldn't do the trade.

I've owned the 5167A for a long time and it is a nice watch, but no way it is worth $90k.

$90k for a 5167.... Consider it still a bargain compare to a Nautilus, where most of the Nautilus is $160k and up......

5167 is a great timepiece if you could get it.....

I might be the minority here (?) but I choose Aquanaut over Nautilus any day. With that said, Im not sure the Aquanaut is worth 90k.....but the Nautilus isnt worth that either....IMO

5167A Aquanaut is the "new" 5711A Nautilus. Wouldn't be surprised by the end of 2022 that plain jane Aquanauts be priced at $110K. Nautilus will be at $200K.

Maybe save a little longer and trade 2 watches instead of 3. The Pepsi and YM plus a little more cash+time.

I am from the only add, never subtract train of thought.

I think you should shop around for better trade numbers, because while aquanaut prices are soaring, so are Daytona and Pepsi prices.

I just pulled the trigger on a 5167a. It’s overpriced, but everything is and I am loving the watch, I’ve been wanting one for 4 years - and I much prefer it to the Nautilus.

Keep us posted how it turns out.

Don't get me wrong, 5167 is beautiful and better watch, but if I were you, I'll let go the Daytona + $$$, keep the others.

Congratz! All that matters is that you are happy with the watch.

Wear it in good health ::)
