Rolex 118296??

I am looking to buy a Platinum President. Found this one available but with diamond lugs. I don’t particularly care for the diamond lugs.

Curious if anyone knows much about this particular model? Or if anyone own one and can share their experience. Does the diamond lug become an eye sore later on?

I was told this is a rare watch? I admit I have never seen one before but would love to learn more. I tried to search but found very limited amount of info on it. Curious to see what the experts think?

That’s a hard pass for me. I can not get over the look of the lugs.

Not necessarily rare, just not made in as large of a quantity as non diamond lugs. This configuration is not very appealing

Yea i am on the fence about the diamond lugs, as I have never seen this before. Just want to get some opinions or see if anyone owned one that can share their experience.

I’m a big DD fan, but not that one.
Smooth bezel makes no sense with diamond lugs.
Should be diamond bezel with those lugs IMO or nothing.

I think I’ll try some home grown Italian on this one: Como si dice fugazi?

I’m no expert in modern 6 dig pieces but the day text seems off centered and in a blueish color to start with…

Appreciate your feedback LK. I am mostly in vintage these days as well but the Plat DD just keeps calling my name for some reason. I think that day wheel look off centered due to the angle of the watch. I will ask for different photos.

It might just be legit but it seemed a bit off on the pic…tried to make a comparison:

It could be the angle and lighting but some of the lettering plus the lower “circle” part of the Rolex crown mounted on the dial seems to differ…plus the dial color…
