I wouldn't travel with a Nautilus or a DD40, no need to increase risks – BLRO or Daytona would be the best choice

DD and BLRO IMHO. One daily, one for the special nights out. Great problem to have

Take the day date. Fits everything from casual stroll around Ravello to a Michilen star dinner in Sorrento. |

No matter which two watches you will take with you to the Amalfi Coast, don't show up in Napoli with one of the watches on your wrist. Seriously.

I would go with a single watch, if you're leaving the PP's at home then my choice would be the Day Date.
This would be my choice simply because I am not a fan of the Jubilee bracelet so that excludes the Pepsi, and I'm not a big Daytona fan so that would be excluded, leaving the DD as my choice of watch for an Italian adventure. Irrespective of what you decide to take have a great holiday.

My wife and I took the train from Rome to Naples and my head was on a swivel because of how unsafe everyone said it was. It was completely fine and well patrolled. Enjoy Amalfi! We loved Positano

Thanks! We're staying in Positano for a few nights and then Sorrento. It's our five year wedding anniversary so the BLNR has to come IMO.

Positano is compact and there is not much there ... Sorrento is stunning but mooch about the local's harbour area , there is a tunnel down to the quay ... lovely taste of real Italy .. Also , if you have time , visit Meta just north of Sorrento , again , to feel the "real" Italy ..... Napoli is a "glorious sh1t hole" as they say , so well worth at least a day ... Scavi di Pompei also obviously "just up the road" ,,, if you plumb into this amazing area , the last thing on your mind will be your watch

I’ve been stationed in Italy a number of times, and have traveled there every year for thirty years. I’ve worn my Bluesy throughout with nary an issue.
In May, I went to a dinner party in Bari. Of the eight men at the table, six of us were wearing a Rolex. And every one was different ! That said, I’d only take one on vacation. |

Unimatic GMT. It’s Italian, not too expensive, not to flashy and yet shows that you are a watch guy.

I saw a ton of watches here (capri) where the dealers have been very nice but was only offered a 5270j at the PP dealer and a 43mm offshore.
The Rolex AD had my current obsession…the 228238 DD 40 in YG with lacquer green dial but it’s presold…. |

We went to Italy last year and was asking myself the same question. I ended up bringing my newest watch - the Tudor GMT with the opaline dial. Loved having a GMT it was the perfect watch for vacation!
