Tried this on today at the AD….

Had the pleasure of trying this on at my AD today. Already promised to another client but they brought it out for me to see. All my concerns of the grey against the black on the bezel looking washed out or muted (as I’ve seen in some photos) were immediately put to rest. This one is definitely top of my list now! Anyone who hasn’t been interested based on how it looks in photos needs to see it in the metal…trust me it’s a stunner!

Thanks guys! FWIW as a side note he said this piece was being allocated to someone who had been waiting on a BLRO for years but just wasn’t making the cut when one came in. He said they’ve only seen a handful over the last two years and in fact have seen more SS Daytonas than SS BLRO’s recently. May not be true but he had no reason to lie to me since I’ve expressed zero interest in an SS BLRO (although like all of us I’d buy one in a heartbeat at retail) or an SS Daytona.

I’m trying one on soon, was 50/50 when it first came out, but the more I see of it the more I like it .. it sits below VTNR, BLNR, BLRO but it certainly is on my radar ..

I had a very nice impression the first time I saw it in person, but still being my least fav GMT, behind VTNR, BLNR, BLRO. In any case, a lovely watch.

I like it and will get one on the Jubilee when the secondary market price drop a bit. I have gone back and forth on buying the last generation model on oyster and sourcing a Jubilee bracelet for it so I may go that route if I can find the right watch pre-owned.

This is possibly true. My AD is trustworthy - They have not seen a single BLRO in over 12 months. In that same period they have gotten 2 white and 2 black SS Daytonas.

I always liked it- but do see why some don't. It kind of blends in/does not have the usual GMT distinction. I have yet to see a GMT I don't like- the VTNR is not for me, but I do see the attraction for others!

Yep, this one is really growing on me. Trying to decide between this, the Guiness, or the Root Beer. I think my AD could get me the Root Beer or Guiness, but this one I've liked since it was introduced.

Yes, I tried one on a couple of weeks ago. I was surprised how much I liked it. Pics don’t do it justice.

I agree - I hated this model when it was announced and I had the original as well. Having tried it on, I have done a 360 on it, think it looked great and modern and different enough to a black sub. I think it's better then the Batman but not as good as the Pepsi but arguably classier and more formal then both of them.

I was the other way around.
Loved it in photos but found it underwhelming in person.
I guess use to vividness of my BLNR and BLRO and wife’s CHNR.
I also guess it was a bad idea for me to take the BLRO that day.
This one is becoming available quickly so expect a call soon.

Seen multiple of those on the display at ADs. Not impressed at all. Look really dull next to more colorful options...

Same for me.

I liked it more in pictures than in person.

I still do like it though.

I'm in the same camp. I purchased the TT GRNR from my AD last year and when this one came out I thought I might want to trade for it instead. Seeing them in person side by side it just didn't do anything for me. For whatever reason, I think this bezel looks much better in gold overlay then silver. Just too monochrome to me. So glad I have the TT model instead.

glad you like it. The grey looks very bland to me, the BLRO and BLNR are still my favorite

Yup! I saw it, tried it on, and it’s on my wish list. I would share this with my husband, if I could get him to remove his Seiko.

I agree with most here - this piece looks a lot better in person. My AD had it on Oyster and Jubilee last time I was in. I tried on the jubilee, and liked it a lot more than I thought I would from the pictures.

Not sure why but I prefer this in jubilee.

Black and blue - oyster
Red and blue - jubilee
Black and gray - jubilee
Black and gray - either

I do like the more muted tones as I agree with what some have said about it looking more formal or less “loud”. I love my BLNR on jubilee but don’t wear it to work because it screams Rolex from across the room. I’m hoping this might blend in a little better especially on oyster to wear I can wear it more often “to the office” without it being a distraction.

That said if I could only have one GMT I’d keep my BLNR, but since I have a brighter one I think this could make a cool addition to my collection.
