Tried out the new Tag Aquaracer GMT - Impressed!

Stopped by a Tag Heuer boutique a couple days ago and asked if they had anything new. The SA pointed me over to the new Aquaracers that came out this year. They had the green/black GMT in stock and a couple of the divers. Gave the GMT a try and I was really impressed. The dimensions are perfect for me at 42mm case diameter, 21mm lug width, 13mm thick, and 48mm lug-to-lug. The 3D wave dial looks amazing and the dual color ceramic bezel is really sharp. Winding and bezel action were smooth. I like the magnifier lens for my aging eyes even though some others may hate it. My only complaint is that it's a caller GMT, but at $4,300 retail it's a nice package. Glad to see Tag righting the ship. Nice stuff they're putting put lately.

Thanks for sharing and great pics.

It’s crazy we’ve come to a point where $4300 is inexpensive. I’m just getting old I guess. My first nice watch was a Tag in 1996 so they always will have a soft spot in my heart. I really love the Skipper, just not at RRP.

This watch seems to be if a Sprite and Omega 300m had a baby….

I hope you pick one up if you love it!

Tag Heuer gets a bad rap. The Aqua Racer, Carrera, and Autavia are excellent

As Einstein said, it's all relative

Yes definitely has some Seamaster DNA going on but it improves on the dial IMO and thank god no skeleton hands. Green/Black screams VTNR for sure.

We'll see. I have have the blue/black in my future...

Agree. I was in there because I just ordered a Carrera 36 date for the wife - another new release. They are putting out nice stuff and a very competitive price. I think they match up well against the likes of Tudor.

Nice looking watch Mike, the bracelet look’s especially good.

Check out the clasp Brian. On-the-fly 10mm of micro adjustment you can do while on your wrist. Might be the first one I've seen.

That looks great and the clasp doesn’t look too bulky either

The new aquaracers are really nice. Bracelet and clasps good quality, and the specs nice for the money as well. Wave dial looks great in person.

Tag has upped their game recently. A friend just picked up that same green auquaracer, he likes everything about it.

I tried these on recently and loved them. I was dubious , but baby Arnault did a decent job with Tag.

I too like some of the newer releases. Saw a gentleman wearing a Tag Monaco Gulf this past weekend. It certainly had a presence.

My husband considered an Autavia but the price point is open to so many other choices. But it is a nice watch. Has wrist presence.

Loved the look of mine and spent some time hunting it down. After wearing it for 2 days, I hate the way it feels on the wrist! The rubber bracelet is just not comfortable for me.

Lemme know if you’re in the market for one.

Honestly, it looks great on you. That's too bad about the comfort issues. Have you considered picking up the bracelet and trying that out? The bracelet I tried out was really comfortable for me.

Thought about it…agree it fits great and really like it. It’s a weird size so you can’t pick another bracelet that’s aftermarket. And I don’t love the steel option from Tag.

Curious why you don't like the Tag steel bracelet? I was pretty impressed with the one I tried out on the new Aquaracer. Clasp felt solid, and the micro adjust was very cool. Bracelet felt good on my wrist.
