I would go with the 5711. I am not a fan of complications in sports watches. Plus, the setting portal on the 5712 cuts the waterproofness to about 80 meters, a big drop from the 120 M on the 5711. I would not take the 5712 in water so what's the point. I would prefer that fine movement in a dress watch.

I prefer the 5712, but its entirely up to you.

If you want in investment get a low cost S&P ETF, if you don't believe me ask Warren or Charlie (RIP).

I was very lucky I sold during the madness for triple what I paid. I suspect this sort of gain won't been seen again

20 years ago was 2004. No one wanted a Nautilus and you could have it for a discount. Everyone was going crazy for Panerai.

20 years before that was 1984. 'Hot' mechanical watch market then was highly complicated pocket watches.

You can assume with higher confidence that Nautilus will lose value in "15-20 year timeframe."
