the weird thing is that watch does not make sense if there is a normal mechanical caliber in it. quartz or spring drive would make a lot of sense though. i hope i am wrong.

Spring Drives are amazing, but that tech isn’t leaving Seiko.

It's funny to think of Stern running Rolex like Wilsdorf, creating a less-expensive brand called Cubitus (a la Tudor). Then we'd be seeing lots of Cubitus models coming out, maybe a cobranding with SpaceX, and lots of brand ambassadors, too. Imagine the Boutique only Bronze Cubitus...

No worries I thought it was a pretty interesting take and it seems feasible albeit preposterous to some .

It kinda makes sense especially as it would differentiate the Cubitus between the Nautilus and Aquanaut lines by having a sporty men's quartz model which the prior two product lines do not currently offer. It would complement the existing automatic models within the Nautilus/Aquanaut lines without as significant of an overlap due to the difference in movement and capability. A quartz Cubitus would also align with Thierry's statements about another "entry" level line of watches as quartz models are seen as more approachable.

Either way, the truth will be revealed in less than 24 hours!
