Dst = pita!!
Dang it, DST just sneaked up on us. Now my automatic Rolex watches on the winder are 1 hour late. My solution, the heck with it and when the next one in the rotation comes out of the case, I'll fix it.

If it was just DST all the time, we wouldn't have to worry about it!

Someone posted that time change was last weekend. I ran to the bedroom, and reset all my watches. I saw my friends at work, and was told I was a week early. Some TRF brother was probably getting a chuckle for those who didn't know better. I corrected the early time change (IN MY ENTIRE HOUSE!!!)
I'm ready for the real world scenario now! |

Paul, we all recognized from the get-go that you were a man ahead of his time!

I set my automatic watches last night, and before going to bed set ALL the clocks in the house forward an hour. During the night, we lost power due to strong winds, and I had to reset all the clocks again. That, my friends, sucked!

It does help the farmers though, and it saves energy.

In the old days, yes ... now, things are grown 24/7 ... the machines being used are so huge and they cut so much volume in one shot that missing an hour is not really gonna matter ... plus these guys also do night time cuts ....so they are cutting day and night ... Gone are days of a plow and an Ox pulling it and the farmer needing light to see what he is cutting ... the lights now days turn night into day .... This stupid tradition that causes inconveninces to so many should be gone ....when people from other countries ask me why we do this stupid thing, I have no answer ... I tell them the same crap: for the farmers ... and they laugh in my face ... if you go ask the farmers, they will laugh in your face too... no one needs this stoneage ritual anymore.... |

I hate the hour of sleep I lose in the spring, but love the hour I get in the fall. It also reminds me when to change the batteries in my smoke detectors. A pain, yes, but a small pain.
