Basel 2010 - New Submariner LN ceramic

Well, I have had my black ceramic SSD for about a month now, and I really, really like it. I upgraded from the previous because of the ceramic bezel, and especially because of the new bracelet. Looked at casually today, unless the light is just right, there are no highly noticeable differences in the bezel.

But the bracelet is a huge upgrade from the prior FlipLock, and to my mind, made with much more care and precision.

For those sitting on the fence, I upgraded to the new version, and am very happy with it. Great accuracy, too.

Well, the list price on this one is US$7350 but I do believe discounts are now available since quite a few are available at the local ADs.

Yep.

Actually, I'm not an AD Snob (no offense to those that enjoy the AD buying experience & paying sales tax...I'm just not one of them), so if you want to shop for one on boards like TRF you can save even more. In SoCal at least I haven't had an AD admit they will discount just yet. But I got my SubC in LNIB condition (still had all stickers intact except for on the clasp & not a mark on the watch) for $6800 from another TRF member.

Love the watch, love the price and saved over $700 compared to a local AD purchase. No doubt the prices will continue to drop considering the economic times...I expect you could pick one up on TRF for low $6Ks within the next 6-12 months. Cheers!

I also found the SubC in two different AD's in Portland, OR on a recent trip...like CA AD's they too wouldn't discount any off list, but at least in OR I wouldn't have to pay sales tax. That trip put me over on having to have one...the minute I returned I started shopping these boards and found my SubC.

Can't say enough good things about the watch...my DSSD has been my daily wearing for over 2 years, yet now the SubC has replaced it and I'm just amazed at how comfortable the watch is. My only complaint (and this is very minor) is the fact you have to remove the watch to adjust the Glidelock...I still prefer the DSSDs Glidelock because it can be done with one hand while it's still on your wrist.

It's similar to the 116710 (GMT-Master IIc), but with Submariner treatments; ceramic bezel, larger "maxi case," maxi dial (larger indices) and updated bracelet. And about $2000 in price.

Yes, there is a video on the Rolex site that shows how they make the ceramic bezel. The indented grooves are blasted with precious metals.
