Omega NATO - is anything else even close???
Does anyone make a NATO that approximates the quality of the Omega NATO? I'm new to NATOs, and have been wearing my Speedmaster Pro on the OEM NATO for the past couple of months, and find it fantastic. I recently ordered some very highly regarded straps from an online retailer that specializes in NATOs, and I found two issues. One - the quality of the material was not as desired/expected, and two - with the watch head centered, the buckle is not even close to being centered under my wrist. It was literally on the very edge of my wrist. Any recommendations???
Also, does anyone know who makes Omega's straps? Thanks, Steve |

Hi Steve
I own several NATO straps original Omega, and I am very satisfied with the quality and, what is also important to me, the detail finish. Personally, I have no motivation to go with anything else than the Omega NATO; never got the point when people start discussing to save maybe 100 $ with an aftermarket strap after they spent several thousands for the watch. To me, this is like having the wrong tyres on an expensive car, but that's just my 2 cents. I wear most of my Omegas on the original NATO, it is soooo comfortable. And I have peace in mind Have a great WE Tom |

Do you guys mind getting those wet (swimming etc). I feel the run of the mill cheap ones really degrade after water exposure

Most are cheap and feel that way. Two I have found that are worth switching from OEM.
Eulit- Perlon, I like the Palma Pacific. They have a one piece and a 2 piece. Not sure how it would be on a Speedy but here it is on my Archimede 90th anniversary Chrono. Dries fast and feels great. The be all end all for me (and I have tried tons of them) in aftermarket nato straps is Haveston. Great material, buckles are excellent quality and the sliding keeper prevents the “tuck” you have to do with a lot of these. They come from the UK so they do take a while to get to the US but well worth the wait. Here is my FOIS on one. I’m telling you, every bit as good as the OEM Omega and Tudor cloth offerings. ToxicNATO gets my vote for pure, unabashed quality without the crazy expensive Omega price. This is the best on the market, IMO. Go with the Shiznit N80 herringbone style.

ToxicNATO also gets my vote. To me the Shiznit is as close as you can get to the OEM NATO, but seems to conform to the wrist better. I just bought a Speedy Tuesday and will be getting a toxic to wear instead of the omega. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My vote goes to Phenomenato. OEM quality for $40.

Omega’s NATO straps are in a league of their own. I’ve tried many “quality” Natos and nothing comes close.

I've tried many, and the Omega OEM NATOs are top notch. But I stick with my trusty ToxicNatos. I have about 20 of them, and I love them. As above, the shiznits are amazing quality for the price.
