I finally did it!
Just a note of thanks to all on this board. I have been lurking for a while and decided to join a couple of weeks ago to post some questions.
If you are bored, here is my story.....About ten years ago, my vehicle was broken into and my TT Date Just was stolen (black face). I really loved that watch and was obviously very upset. Due to this, I decided that it was not worth being upset and vowed never again to own another expensive watch. I even went so far as to tell my friends to personally kick my butt if I ever attempted to purchase another nice watch. A few timex's later, my wife (whom I gave a TT DJ to years ago) told me it was time to reward myself for such hard work and also I looked dumb wearing a Timex Iron Man at parties, weddings, social gatherings, etc. She suggested that I at the very least get a Tag or something decent looking. Unfortunately while looking at Tags, I just kept thinking that if I was going to upgrade, Rolex would be the one. I initially decided to get another TT DJ but kept putting off my decision. The professional series never really appealed to me because I did not dive and never really studied the other models (YM, GMT, etc.). Well, I am excited to report that as of last night, I am the proud owner of a new GMTIIc SS. I picked it up from the local AD and cannot be more excited. This is one beautiful watch and am very impressed with the comfort, looks, etc. I would not have made this decision without the vaulable information found on this site so just wanted to say thanks. |

Will have to get some pics up when I can and no, it will not be left in my car. I forgot how much of a work of art these watches really are and have never appreciated the beauty of the professional series.

Congratulations! Great choice. Definitely get an insurance policy on this one. Separate or as part of your homeowners insurance. Make sure it is a waiver specifically for your valuable jewlery. That could come in handy should lightening strike twice.
Enjoy!

I have my watches insured and hopefully I'll never need it but always good to know they can be replaced with insurance company's money (well, it my $$ deposited in the insurance company for the future)

Didn't someone else have a GMT stolen from their car lately? I always keep my watch on my wrist or in a secure (zipped, if possible) pocket. Congrats on your GMT! It's the dressiest of the sports models in my opinion. |
