Thoughts on Navitimer 1

Guys, I am very new to Breitling, and one of the major reasons that I never looked into this brand is that I have small wrists.

I currently have a ceramic white Daytona and Omega speedy Tuesday 1 (reverse panda), which is why I love my current chronograph combo.

Anyway I have been considering to sell my ST1 and get a reverse panda dial ie new Navitimer 1 43mm.

I like ST1 vintage look, the only problem is that my finger nail hurts when I try to pull out the crown (and it doesn’t have a date window). Both not major issues, but would like to get some opinion on Breitling and think over my options.

The other thing is the resale value I have heard is very bad with Breitling.

If your fingernail hurts when pulling the crown on a Speedmaster Professional, your fingertip will hurt when you rotate the Navitimer bezel.

Haha thanks for the feedback
But I don’t think I will rotate the bezel very much

As for speedy, I do need to pull out the crown every now and then to adjust the time since it’s a manual winding watch.

I don’t have such problems with my Nomos manual watch though.. So not sure if it was my speedy or myself.

I have small wrists as well and ended up with the older model navi (specifically the AOPA 75th anniversary model). While it is like 41.5mm vs 43, side by side it was noticeable and given my wrists (approx 6.5 inches) it looked better on. The non-in house movement did not bother me at all as the navi was doing just fine for 50+ years without one.

I like it, but would only buy it with a deep discount

I use to have a classical Speedmaster Moon Watch then moved on to Breitling. I fully agree with you that the crown on Speedmaster was hard to pull out. I don't have this problem with Breitling. Also the crown on Speedmaster was too small so that either winding or time adjusting was difficult as my thick fingers hit and rub the case itself not crown leading to unnecessary effort on crown turning. Again, I don't have this problem with Breitling. I don't know about the resale because I have no experience. But for now I have no intention of selling Breitling.

I love mine.
Didn’t buy it to ever sell it.
Got it because of its classic look and never looked back.

Assume you'll get back 25% of retail when you sell. It's pretty bad for sure, but don't buy the watch with the plan of selling it and you'll be just fine.

My experience is 50% of retail on eBay or private sales.
