He probably had to trade one of his masterpiece "Simplicity's" for it!

If I ever had the means, I'd buy one of those for a dress watch in a heartbeat!

I was hoping he would be asked how long he was waitlisted.

The "Dufour" Rolex pepsi

LOL
Value just went up another thousand
and the average waiting list an extra year
cause approved and worn by the master himself :-) :-) :-)

Maybe the 126710 BLRO for Dufour is like a Casio G-Shock for folks like us. Or maybe, as with a lot of us, he just likes it.

No amount of money can buy that sort of publicity. Rolex ought to buy the man a beer!

Even a master acknowledges what Rolex has done for the entire industry. Rolex has a lot of heritage and they were responsible for many industry firsts even though their focus on innovation died about 50 years ago.

I think he must appreciate the iconic design. And he's a man who knows design! Plus the BLRO in all it's incarnations is simply a beautiful timepiece.

Product placement? Maybe Rolex gave him one for just such a purpose.

What do you mean? He’s sitting right there showing them his watch and they take a close-up photo of it. Not really any doubt about what he’s wearing?

Considering the Rolex CEO shares the same last name as with Philippe...you do the math.

He was a big fan of the 39mm ALS Datograph! BLRO is a nice change!

Picture says a thousand words - the fact that he chose the BLRO over any other “hot” Rolex like the Daytona, LV, SkyD or BLNR should hint that the Pepsi GMT is definitely something special.

Other than his own creations, Mr Dufour has only been photographed with one other watch - the Datograph. He could afford any watch, and I really respect his discerning eye for quality over quantity.

All the validation I needed.

Seriously though, the BLRO has quickly become a SS Rolex favourite of mine. A very practical, comfortable, retro/vintage feeling watch with all the benefits of the modern Rolex.
