Interesting thought. But do PCLs explain the missing hours and bum-probes of alien abductees? Of course PCLs may have been a feature of the downed flying saucer in Roswell, and the alien technology was borrowed by scientists from Area 51, much like velcro. That would explain a lot.

I would think with PCLs on a GMT that a pilot might find it a little reflective in the cockpit. Maybe why all the UFO reports I love PCLs on my Daytona but only on the Daytona .

GMTs look just fine with PCLs, IMO, and the idea that any watch dubbed a "tool watch" must have a bracelet with the finish of Vice-grip is silly. GMTs (and Subs, Explorers, etc.) are more accurately defined as Professional Series watches, and the tool aspect of the GMT was (and is) to display 2 (now 3) time zones for pilots. That's it.

Plenty of GMTs in the past were sold by Rolex with Jubilee bracelets, not Oysters, and some argue that is the most classic look. It was not designed as, nor meant to be, a mountain climbing or dive watch. It's an aviator's watch, and having a bit of flash to it is perfectly fine. Watches and aviation have a longer history together than watches and diving, so I'm not sure why so many think all "tool watches" need to look like a Sub.

I like the PCLs on my Batman, but also the brushed on my Sub C.

The GMTs were created for pilots, meant for delicate professions, hence the PCls for a more dressy look. Sub and Explorer are meant to be toughies, so brushed.

Perhaps this is also why Yatchmaster has PCLs. More for delicate professions, class and dressy look.

I hate PCLs. They are ugly.

Racing in regattas is a delicate profession?

Here are my PCLS thoughts (from another thread):

I'm completely torn on PCLs. I love them on my BLNR, and adore the brushed on my 216570. I always TRY to be gentle on my watches...more so one with PCLs? Maybe a tiny bit with the BLNR.....but....

I wore my Milgaus GV on-and-off as a daily beater for 3 years. This was before I started hanging out here, and therefore before I had ever heard of PCLs. I just though it had a nice bracelet. Did I worry about scratching it more than any other watch? Certainly not.

My TT Sub was my first Rolex, bought new in 1986 and worn everyday for nearly 20 years. I still love it and wear it regularly. In effect it has PCLs.

I might be in the market for a Subc No date.....quite fancy the idea of a second non PCL piece.

So I guess I like PCLs.
And I like brushed as well.
