My AD (Mayors) doubles the warranty (10 years total) so I felt it was worth it versus going ALT market. So while I know with some saving a few hundred is great, I'd rather have piece of mind and a place I know will send her in to service free of shipping charge.

I negotiated $950 off and no sales tax if I paid cash. But my dad was buying a YM II at the same time so we got a better deal buying two

Its really apples and oranges Rick. Sadly in the UK discounts are hard to come by. In the US not so much though it is changing with the Rolex "boutique" concept. Rolex is closing down smaller mom and pop ADs. I.E those most likely to give you a discount. I got minimum 10% on every Rolex I bought back home without asking for it. On SS models. More on TT and precious metal ones. That AD is now closed.
Trusted seller is the way to go but again you being in the UK that does not pencil out. I don't feel anyone here needs to prove anything. It is what it is. Believe it or not. |

$8,150 last week week at Incheon Airport in Korea. Believe that's better than trusted seller price.

Couldn't get any discount when I bought my LV, in the UK. I did, however, get a big discount on a ring I bought for my wife at the same time. So I was happy!

10% is not unrealistic.

Yikes! Was that before or after the requisite haggling? I ask because I was initially quoted a price of $7700 which they were able to work down to $7200 several months back (this was at the smaller AD near the duty free claim office). Have the prices in Korea gone up? |
