Please clarify for the forum, was this a ROLEX AD or just someone selling watches?

What is the name of the AD............to avoid it like the plague? All of this happened and you didn't even take it up with the AD? You just nonchalantly returned it ? No huffing and puffing? No give me a free cleaning cloth? Yet you came here and vented about it?

I recently bought a used rolex from an AD and although I knew it was fake, I wanted it to be real, so I paid for it anyway.

watches. They have an internet sales affiliate/department that is under a different name. They sell pre-owned Rolex as well as other pre-owned watches. The internet sales business is located in a different town but in same state. Let me say, I was convinced that it was not a real Rolex watch but could be wrong. The hallmarks were poor quality and the watch did not look polished. The edges were very crips and sharp. The date wheel numerals did not look crisp neither did the lettering. |

I can see this thread has not been very helpful but more controversial. I thought the watch was not a authentic rolex. Maybe is was, but I didn't think so.
If the moderator could please take down this thread, I would appreciate that. Thank you! |

I didn't know this! That's good to know although after owning over 50 Rolex from the 1980s and earlier, I'd say that I strongly disagree with your assessment.

... I think the guy meant that compared to modern HEAVY Rolex watches, an 80s Rolex would feel cheap and tinny (i.e. 16800 vs 116610)... though if you compared an 80s non Rolex to an 80s Rolex, the quality disparity would be quite obvious... I did find this assessment funny as well though...

As such I have no idea why you would expect their products to be real.

His first post stated: ".....I knew immediately it was not a real Rolex, it was a fake! " Post #1 - July 12, 2018 - Jack Pine. By Post #39 he starts to have second thoughts: Let me say, I was convinced that it was not a real Rolex watch but could be wrong. Post #39 - July 12, 2018 - Jack Pine. By Post #41 he realizes the following: I thought the watch was not a authentic rolex. Post #41 - July 13, 2018 - Jack Pine. The community is being warned to take caution when buying a used Rolex, which I appreciate Mr. Pine, for the heads up......but I need some supporting or relevant details. Photographs would be very helpful, or a PM letting me know the name of the AD, something that I can grasp. It confuses when someone is "immediately" sure about something so delicate , then (24) hours later , after being P.I.M.P.´d (this is a medical acronym - that any Medical Student or Intern will immediately recognize), switches gears? Not my cup of tea.

If it was precious metal no way it will be fake, just wasn't what you expected which I get with the feel of vintage watches

That is one of the major benefits of selling on TRF... you are generally dealing with a more informed customer base who knows what to expect from the particular model they are purchasing...
