I've been told a 5990 is very possible for later this year, following my recent 5726.
No shot this year at a 5712/5712r, or 5711 this year, unfortunately. |

I don’t have good enough connects to land any new sports pieces so I’m focusing on AP and other brands. I’m happy with my 5164 though :)

Wishlist for what we are getting or what we want?
My whole list concludes as following: 5711/1R, 5990/1A, 5712R, 116508 Green, 5168G Khaki, 5726 Blue and RM11. I'm due to be getting 2 of these within the next 1-2 months. |

Given the above circumstances, my circle of friends count probably less than a dozen with a watch above 30K. |

I will add the Tudor PO1 and the S&G Chrono on the Bund Strap. I will also add the Seiko SLA033, Re-issue of the Captain Willard. I am also going to look at the new WG Yacht Master. I do not like the rubber strap as much as a bracelet and have never owned one but if the fit is right and the market can get the watch down in price a bit, I might get one.

With no prior purchases at the AD and only one year since I put my name down, guessing it’s going to be a close race between getting that call and death... |

I have no lists with my AD - I just wait for a call or a text - when they get something in they think I might have interest in. I’m quite happy with my current collection so lately I’ve been passing - as I have zero interest in anything hyped up.
Passed up the first BLRO and ‘new’ BLNR....and two other PP. I’ve been collecting for many years - and I have no desire to be on a list - or wait. I’d rather just have something else. Been spending more time in the AP, Lange, Journe and Jaeger worlds lately. Just my .02 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’m thinking the zenith revival. Other stuff is not unique and the usual suspects, I’m kinda sick of asking for status updates

Hopefully, the 5212A but no confirmation from the AD that I am even on a list.

This is gonna be how the bubble is gonna pop. Meaning all this limiting production , vpi , buying things that you don’t really want ....all that pisses people over time. The hobby is not as fun as it’s used to be, I feel I care less , less and less overtime about acquiring watches. Or maybe they really don’t care if the business can be sustain by a few. But then they would loss the brand perception, haters instead of fans. Yeah icy territory Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sort of intrigued by the 5212a, but a "dress" watch doesn't fit my lifestyle now. Nothing else from PP singing to me at the moment.

This is kind of how I feel also after a buying spree last year. Many of my collector friends said I am lucky to acquired many desirable pieces such as my AP Skeleton, Nautilus etc but all these took effort and I am not sure I want to do this again and again as the "entry barrier" gets set higher and higher, with more hops to jump thru. And realistically, I know once the buying stops, so does my "status" with the brand and won't be considered for future desirable pieces, it does gets tiring after a while. And I have now more watches than I can ever wear so I plan to slow down a lot this year. As for wishlist, I did request a 5726 blue though from an AD that I have supported with several purchases but I am not sure if I will actually get one as everything is so arbitrary nowadays. I am now looking to purchase watches that deliver more value while being more accessible and also into independents. And I agree with Jorge that if they keep pissing people off especially with new buyers that become disillusioned, one day, there will be no new buyers to pick up the slack when the old buyers decided enough is enough and stop buying.

I'm not that fussed for myself anymore, actually more interested to see other people's incomings, esp of the new Basels and the happiness and chatter they will bring.

i have a 5980R (on leather) come in two weeks and still waiting for the 5980 1R. it was originally promised for january, now for june but i doubt it. the 5980AR should come back to me in winter.
beyond that i have decided to cut out the nautilus craze, will probably unload the 5711R and the 5712R and get some higher end stuff....possibly 5270P, not sure yet, but next year. lately i had have cooled down with patek a bit and re-discovered my love for rolex PM models. currently i am trying to source a GMT master 2 WG blue dial. the daytona YG green dial is already waiting to be picked up.....i shall do it first thing when back in europe in ten days:::))) meanwhile the 5170P (shared with my wife), the tudor GMT (like it really on a leather strap) and the PP 5119J (shared with my wife as well) keep me watch-happy. |
