Then there's the elephant in the room with the ongoing situation regarding the new 32xx movements which is bizarre

I think it's an individual thing. There are some neat movement technology out there, including some that don't require servicing as they are essentially zero friction. Pretty neat stuff. In other cases, the detailing of movements is spectacular and worth the price of admission.

But other than some of the neat technologies or artful detailing, I think the average movement is pretty decent. This is especially true when you own multiple watches. In my experience, my doxa tells time about as well as my expII for how long I wear either watch for a given amount of time.

If a Rolex had a quartz movement it would cost half as much and keep time twice as well.
