I wonder how these sit on the wrist and if it's too chunky/bulky or not. I like the baby blue one, and fine with the case size mm, but wonder the height.

15.2mm height is a lot, will be very hard not to get nasty scratches.

Love the retro feel and traditional dial layout…

I think unfortunately it's done intentionally for atheistic purposes since they've shown in other models that they can also go thin.

Honestly the ROO would be amazing if it was 2" thinner or so. It really is too thick. That doesn't stop me from wearing a 44mm though. But I always thought a 42-43mm that was 2" thinner would be the perfect ROO.

Apparently the extra height is due to another plate they’ve added to adjust the in house movement to a 6,9,12 layout vs the base caliber being a 3,6,9 layout.

Regardless, 15 is getting into very chunky land

£53K? I got my RG Nautilus for nearly half that price... watch inflation is thru the roof.

Any one expect to get one of those 42mm?
I spoke to my boutique yesterday, SA cant give an ETA but only said even Offshore is very difficult to get these days..

My last AP purchase was last year, didn’t know even a regular offshore is hard to get now.

I am looking at the 42mm blue dial with rubber and maybe purchase an additional steel bracelet.

AP has been improving its movements recently as we all know.
New movement for 15500, new chrono movement developed for the Code and rolled progressively to ROC and they also got rid of the Dubois Dépraz module.

UNFORTUNATELY, each time it did increase thickness...

forgot to mention the Dubois Dépraz module was relevant for the ROO... so again thicker but integrated. And the ROO is now rocking a flyback.

Hm, before tax it's $10k more than I paid for the Beast anniversary edition a year ago. The Horoloupe picture looks great, but given that the old model looks basically the same (w/o the odd ring around the date window), one must really love the flyback chrono to consider this a good deal.

I agree. I have the "Beast" and I am digging the new titanium but at that price; yikes.

Not long ago you could get basically any steel ROO on grey at c.USD15k...
AP has increased prices crazy over the last 4 years.

am fine with that by the way - just that, coupled with basically anything being unavailable - just hope they are not going to fall in the "arrogant" bucket...

Ignoring secondary market pricing, at Patek 5980/1A is $53k retail.

Comparing in house chrono to in house chrono, this 20% under that company. I’m surprised AP didn’t increase the price more when switching to their in house integrated chronos - they definitely could and people would buy it but the small uptick for a substantial upgrade is reasonable

To me it might have the same functionality but comparing these two the PP is in another universe

Whether one considers $10k (33%) a "small uptick" may be a matter of perspective

I do however agree that contrary to popular opinion e.g. the Code chronos are priced about right or even a bit low vs comparable watches from PP or ALS.

My SA gave me a head's up that I could come and try these (or a subset of them) in October...she wasn't more specific than that and wasn't clear if they would be demo models or actual product for purchase. Will report back when I get the call to come check them out.

Problem with code is you can buy them from greys with 20/25% discount - model specific

It's true to the original 25721ST. A white date-wheel makes sense on a sports watch, it's so much more legible. Some of us actually prefers it
