Got my Pepsi GMT after about a year long wait. New customer to this AD with no buying history at their regional chain. So, yes, that does happen.

It's been five years for me (and I've given up).
Back in late 2017, I heard rumors that there may be a new Pepsi at Baselworld so I contacted the manager of my AD who I had just bought a Batman from a few months earlier. I even offered to pay upfront but he declined and assured me I would get the first one that arrived. Given that I purposely kept in contact, dropping by every couple months to exchange pleasantries and even bringing them fresh-baked treats from a local bakery. After a whole year, I called and spoke to one of the salesman who unknowingly admitted that they had already gotten several in and sold them. I continued to press the Manager with no luck and finally just gave up after our last conversation two years ago when he said he was still waiting. I've been a Rolex enthusiast for 40 years and the BLNR was my first one, bought because a Coke or Pepsi wasn't available (which is what I really wanted). Now, thanks to the inflated demand and stupid flippers, I can't even get one at MSRP anywhere! |

I bought my wife an OP34 for Christmas 2020 and they brought a Pepsi out under a napkin at checkout. I think it surely helps to be a paying customer and interested in something other than the hottest steel watches.

I got two of them in the amount of time it took to run the manual card machine on my MasterCharge*
* Mind you, it was at an AD in Florence Italy, though...in 1987. ;-) |

Thanks. My AD has been good to me ( 7 pieces in 3.5 years). She has my list and I never follow up with calls or texts.
As I understand it, they operate on 2 watches per year ( at least for small timers like me). It probably helps that I buy some anniversary jewelry. Interestingly I asked whether they had been briefed at all from corporate on the CPO program and they remain clueless…. |

I think what he was saying is that he hopes you bought watches that you actually wanted, not watches they wanted you to buy (junk, like tag, 26mm ladies dj, etc).
We can pretty much assume if you can’t get a Pepsi out of them after 2 years, you didn’t get 5 other hot flippable models

With a 5 watch purchase history i would expect they should've come through by now.

So I get on with the guy really well, I have had bb58 blue, op coral, gmt blnr, oysterflex Daytona black/silver, speedmaster moon, Tudor panda, Tudor bb pro, dj36 mint, pelegos 39, plus various jewellery. He has said he will 100% get one for me but they just don’t get as many as they would like and I assume there are just many more in front of me in the queue. I did ask him before Christmas, if I should just move on to a different model as I was getting a little despondent. He was quite open said he could get me a sub green bezel within a couple of months but that would put back the blro. I have left it with him, he said they will have a pretty good idea in Jan of there years allocations and will let me know how it looks for this year. One of the sales guys had one on, he had to wait 5 years for his! Anyway I have the bug again so I’m enjoying the journey! |
