Not for me. But I love the watch!
Isn’t green special and anniversary colors for Rolex? |

I'd take my chances at the AD, I don't think it should too hard with some patience. I don't imagine a lot of people going in to an AD dropping $40k on a DD.

It's a matter of personal preference, If you truly love it sure why not.

hopefully op bought it when he first made this thread because look at prices now. i've learned if I like a watch and can afford it, just buy it. Made the mistake too many times thinking a watch is over MSRP only to be kicking myself later down the road:
Passed on a Panda for 22k in 2019 Passed on a 5712 for 60k in 2019 Bought my Olive RG DD in Dec 2020. Paid $43k usd, so slightly over retail. Took me awhile to justify it but I'm glad I did |

What does $60k get you outside of Rolex, PP or AP land?

At that price point, would probably rather get the platinum DD on the grey mkt.

I went to the diamond district yesterday to gauge interest in the demand for my watch. I got offered 72-75k by atleast 6 dealers. I was shocked honestly but if they will pay that much….that tells u where they see the ceiling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have my name down forbfew months and still waiting. I was told that the so called wish or waiting list is different from other models, however the SA also told me the demand is also very high. Personally I like it very much but don't think I will pay 70000US or 56000GBP for this.

These DD are going through the roof! In a way, at least you get a full solid gold rolex vs paying 40k for a steel daytona

Crazy times. I remember if you bought a DD40 you could either get a discount, or bundle that purchase with a few steel professional models. |

I would advise you not to unless the used price is fairly close to MSRP with sales tax from an AD and maybe up to 10 percent higher from there. So for me on a piece this expensive it worth up to about 5K to me to have it now and forget the waiting and mental stress. But, I would really want the watch.
A heads up the legibility of the rose gold hands on the green dial is very bad in some lighting. They blend in and disappear. It why I much prefer white dials on watches where the hands are not lumed. From a glance from any direction and in low light you can easily read the time. Functionality is my first priority on any watch. |

As mentioned in another post, anything that has Roman numerals or diamonds is a useless watch at night unless you use your phone light. People are getting hyped up to the jewelry aspect of the watch. But in the end, it’s your money or loan and wish you all the best.

Not saying it's not a nice watch but this is what the RG olive reminds me of. Prefer the WG as it makes the olive pop more whereas the RG blends it in.
Doesn't warrant the premium but to me no DD does. |

You’re right. Asking price is not the same as buying price. But I think what he means is that he will come out ahead _despite_ that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Before Mayer decided that the green Daytona was "special" David had them listed at $34-$35000. They were always available. Mayer writes the article and the price explodes.
Now its the olive Day Date for whatever reason. If you will enjoy it knowing that you are paying a vastly inflated price go ahead. I wouldn't because ownership at the current number would make me feel foolish. Each to his own! |

Hey Guys-
Chiming back on this thread again for an update. Maury Povich voice: In the case of OP purchasing the Green Day Date at an absurd premium….opens envelope. OP, you are NOT the owner of a Green Day Date. Couldn’t do it guys! I’ll be “patient” I guess. Who knows, maybe I should be regretting that I was himming and hawing at 58k and now it’s trending toward 75k Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
